Teaching & Supervision

I am a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. My teaching is informed by more than a decade of industry experience in software development, technical leadership, service delivery, and training. I enjoy working with students on projects that combine technical development with real-world challenges and positive social impact.

Projects may be research-focused, development-focused, or a combination of both.

Previous Student Projects

  • AI support for NHS audiology paperwork: Richard’s project explored whether AI could support clinical administration. Richard is now a PhD student at the University of Southampton.
  • Low vision webpage layout modifier: Mariia developed a browser extension to support web accessibility and now works as a Project Manager at the University of Oxford.
  • Real-time artwork enhancement for people with low vision: Louis developed accessibility-focused image enhancement software and now works as a software developer.

Projects with External Organisations

Some student projects originate from challenges proposed by museums, charities, community organisations, and industry partners. These projects provide opportunities to work on real-world problems while gaining experience of stakeholder engagement and applied research.
